Momma Ray’s is a new affordable Bristol supperclub – open to all who like good homecooking and a relaxed, informal atmosphere – run by one half of the Recipe for Gluttony team.
The inaugural event takes place in our home in Bishopston on 29th January and costs just £12 for the following menu:
Starter
Lentil Galettes
Puff pastry tarts filled with a middle-eastern-influenced lentil yoghurt and herb mix, served with a simple dressed green salad.
Main Course
Aubergine & Chickpea Spiced Stew
A rich Indian spiced tomato, poppy seed & coconut stew of slow cooked aubergines and chickpeas, served with steamed rice & chutney.
Dessert
Affogato
Homemade creamy cardamom icecream served with a shot of strong hot espresso.
In the spirit of an affordable night out for the post-Christmas period, the event is BYOB too!

Can’t wait for the 29th, it’s going to be great. A cosy evening of good home cooking, wine and conversation. Looking forward to meeting new people and making new friends for the new year!
See you there!
Becky
P.s. if you’re wondering about the name, the main course is inspired by a recipe from the other host Anna’s mum, Mrs Ray, AKA Momma Ray 🙂
Wish I could be there!
Yippee! At last, a date I can do!
